Help & Support: Becoming the Hands of Christ Together
Here at Blessed Sacrament, we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community, extending His love and compassion to our neighbors in need. Our outreach ministries are more than just services; they are powerful encounters where faith is put into action, and lives are transformed—both for those who receive and for those who give.
We invite you to be a part of this life-giving work.
The Food Pantry: Nourishing Bodies, Uplifting Spirits
WHAT: A community food pantry providing essential groceries.
WHEN: Every first and third Thursdays, 11:30 AM - 12:45 PM
WHERE: 3127 James St., Syracuse, NY 13206
More Than Just a Bag of Groceries
For a family facing hardship, a bag of groceries is a lifeline. It’s the relief of knowing there will be food on the table, the dignity of being able to provide for one's children, and a tangible sign that someone cares. This ministry is a direct answer to the Gospel call to "feed the hungry," providing not just physical nourishment but also spiritual comfort and hope.
A Ministry That Feeds the Soul
This is a ministry of transformation. For the person receiving help, it is an encounter with the unconditional charity of Christ. For our volunteers, it is a profound opportunity to see the face of Christ in those they serve. Working to stock shelves, pack bags, and offer a warm welcome, our volunteers discover that in feeding others, their own souls are deeply fed.
